I remember when I was still a child, there was this really cool screensaver on my computer.. the aquarium one. Man, was that fun to watch. The winged toasters were cool too, but the fish were more enjoyable to me. posted by Melike at 19:13

Haha. Reed called me a nutty frau. posted by Melike at 02:08
Today in math we were discussing in our group who should do what part of the project. Xiao and I both wanted to do the Excel part, but the Xiao pointed out that his initials were XL. The guy had a good reason, I had to give it to him. posted by Melike at 00:07

I finished the 150-page Spanish play, but now I have to outline an essay for it. Sure, it takes time to read, but I really don't understand this prompt. :( Well, I understand the meaning of the question very well, but I have no idea how to answer it. Time to do some serious thinking. posted by Melike at 01:49

Hey there. Ugh! I'm so musically inspired! Actually, I'm inspired in this creative way and I don't know what to do with it. Sometimes I want to cook, draw sometimes, but mostly compose or something. Yeah.. Cindy thinks I'm talented for some reason. Of course, I can't really judge myself without being biased, but all I want to be is a better musician. I want to sit and make midi files, or go to the piano and learn stuff. Learn learn learn. But it'd be so nice to sleep before any of that takes place. Today I made some friends taste the thing I baked, and the ones who did eat it liked it. Charles was like, "Oh daa!" And I was like, "dah?" But what he meant was oh jes. He says it well, when he remembers what the syllable is. I have the feeling that this week won't be as busy. I just need to read the remaining 55 pages of the Spanish play, then all I have is English reading. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow I'll have time to do hobby stuff. Argh! I really want to arrange something, but I don't know what! posted by Melike at 21:22

Yesterday was really great. After school we went to Gus's house to eat Steven's cooking. We watched him chopping the onions, mincing the garlic, etc. So.. he made steak, grilled onions, pasta, and a tuna-parsley-crushedredpepper-garlic mixture to put over the pasta. We had alcohol-free wine and coke, and some garlic bread, but that wasn't as good. Anyway, it was really fun watching Steven acting all professional, with a hilarious commentary that made my eyes water. Before that, we played GTA again, and another car game.. Simpsons Road Rage? Something like that. In GTA, I hijacked a truck and drove into all the cars in the street, and Steven started a fight with two prostitutes and they chased him down the street. Sam got out of his car, beat up a woman in a bikini, then got back in the car. I attacked a guy in a gang and all these people started coming after me. Ah, it's a great game. During dinner, we played "the sentence game" - everyone says one word when it's their turn and we make up a story. Of course, our game resulted in random sentences that were a bit ... inappropriate. What can I say! Then we tried to decide on a movie, but were captivated by something else that we found on TV. It was rather funny. Anyway, after then, it's all a disorganized blur. We watched the first half hour of Office Space (which I really want to see now), and Sam had an allergic reaction to the cake. The end was .. yeah a bit chaotic. But all in all, it was a very fun night, and I'm glad I didn't go to semiformal because I would rather eat Steven's cooking, play GTA, and just relax on a couch than go to a dance on a boat. Anyway, I got inspired from watching Steven yesterday, and helped my mom cook today. I insisted on frying the French toast myself for breakfast, and in the afternoon I baked a cake/bread thing. I haven't tasted it yet but I hear it's really good. Of course, my mom was there to guide me along (and scold me whenever I messed up.. hehehe). We made this great dinner together. My mom made a salad and some fish, and I made French fries from scratch (yes! now I'll make fries all the time.. j/k). There were also calamari rings which I fried, and my mom made garlic breadsticks. *drool* Okay.. not really drooling because the taste is still in my mouth. Now I want to help with cooking whenever my mom's in the kitchen. I never thought this day would come.. up until recently, I used to think, "Ugh, I'm too lazy to go there and learn how to cook, I'll never learn." But now I want to. See, it's different. I don't want to learn cooking from a book. I want to learn it from my mom. I want to learn some traditional Turkish dishes.. gotta represent my culture, yo. In other news, I'm reading a 150-page Spanish play written around 1630, and I understand most of it. posted by Melike at 01:38
