Yesterday in math lecture, the professor said, "By now you can probably see what the solution is going to be... well, at least I can." A few guys snickered behind me and said, "What a bastard!" I laughed hard. There's a formal tonight! But also, around roughly the same time, there's an Anatolian Night where Turkish people from all over Boston get together and eat Turkish food and watch entertainment. So I decided to go to a part of that first, and be an hour or so late to the formal. I was going to wake up early today and do homework, but I woke up at noon! posted by Melike at 14:06

I took this picture during math lecture. Math is interesting. Today, the entire class booed the professor because he said we needed to do integration by parts and partial fractions while doing Laplace transformation problems. But Laplace transformation is so cool! You turn differential equations into equations in terms of another variable which you can then solve algebraically! Whoa. Other than that, people in my chemical engineering class asked really stupid questions today. No offense, but I wanted to yell at them. I don't know whether I should be happy or sad. Happy, I guess, because there have been times when I've asked a really stupid question too. Sorry 10.10 people. I was impatient with you today. I've been very productive lately (or maybe I make myself think that). Overall I'm really happy. Non-overall I'm happy too. Sometimes, in my Intro to Western Music class, I want to cry. Today we listened to Beethoven and I never really realized how great he was. Same with Mozart, but that was a few weeks ago. I want to cry in class, but I hold back the tears and tell myself that I'll listen to them at home and cry in privacy, but never get around to it. posted by Melike at 18:06

I got my braces tightened this morning, and they hadn't hurt this much in a while. I'm mad because my orthodontist was saying that they'd come off before the end of the school year, but today she said they'd be done by the end of the calendar year. Grr! It's because she tells me, "I'll see you in 3-5 weeks" and I go to the front desk to get an appointment and the lady's like "the onlyspot she has is two months later." And what am I supposed to do? Grr. It pisses me off. And today, my orthodontist told me to get some appointments in advance and they'd be easier to negotiate. So I ask the front desk person if I could get another appointment a month after the next one, and she said "Sorry she doesn't have a schedule for June yet." Grr! I'm going to call them next week until I can get another appointment in advance. There's a formal on Saturday! I brought my prom dress from home to wear. I'm excited. Kind of. It's just a stupid freshman formal, but still. posted by Melike at 22:12

enraged hamster
This morning, when I reached inside Dragon's cage to retrive something, he jumped up onto his hind legs, showed me his teeth and threatened to bite me! He looked very angry. Hamsters are so fat. Jonathan just got a pair of gerbils yesterday, and our Dragon looks obese in comparison! On Saturday, when Reed visited me, while he was playing with Dragon, he grabbed the skin on his side and declared, "Look! He has armpit fat!" posted by Melike at 15:50
I dreamt that I called one of my friends stupid, and she flipped. She started crying and walked away, and I felt kinda bad. I was walking around the MIT campus, but it wasn't really the MIT campus, just some generic campus. It was the first day of Spring Break, and I saw Klara walking towards the T station carrying 5 pieces of luggage. I think later on I went to visit my old high school and gave people advice about colleges. I got a free tote bag from subscribing to Jane magazine! It's black, thin, very sleek, and looks sturdy. It's just the right size for my laptop. I'd expected it to be a piece of crap. I was wrong. posted by Melike at 09:52

I think the poll is gonna stay there for a bit. I was planning on making my decision today, depending on the poll results, but so far they're tied. Go vote! *points to the right* posted by Melike at 11:21
I'm back at MIT, and what's so awesome is that Reed happened to be in Boston so he and his mom picked me up from the airport. Then, I took Reed over to Davis Square where I introduced him to Anna's Taquera. ("That was the best meal I've had in my life!" and "This is sorcery! They keep the ingredients in bins all day, but when they put them all together, it tastes delicious.") Then we went to a caf and had coffee... After that, we walked around in a rather large used book store. It's so warm here now! I sweat in a coat. I guess it's time to take out the light jackets. Blah! I'm going to bed. posted by Melike at 00:10
