uh oh...
It seems as though you need to refresh the page, or the thumbnail of the Picture of the Day still shows yesterday's.. hmm, there *must* be a way around that. Anyway, I did put up a new picture today. In fact I waited next to that hallway for close to an hour so that I might find a moment when it was completely empty (don't worry, I didn't have classes and I was doing homework).

Slow news day? You bet.

New Stuff
Today I declared my major! I am now officially Course 10B. In real life (non-MIT), this means Chemical-Biological Engineering.
Also, I started a new project. If I could direct your attention to the right, you shall notice that I started a Picture of the Day thing. Hopefully this will be easier and more accesible than matchingfreak. It will force me to take at least one photo every day (and don't worry, it won't always be of myself). There.

Poll Results
I wish more people would vote on the poll (to the right). I was going to make my decision based on the results a week ago, but it's pretty much a tie. So vote some more!
In physics, sometimes we are assigned group problems where one of us goes up to the whiteboard while the group tells him/her what to do (each group has a whiteboard). Last week we decided to determine who goes up by the nose rule. Whoever's touching his nose the last goes up! So the first two times some people were caught off-guard and they got to be the victims. After that, since some people just sat there with their hands very close to their nose, we established a new rule that our hands have to touch the table first; then, when the slide announcing the group problem shows up, we touch our nose. On the third problem, we braced ourselves for the upcoming slide. As soon as the slide came up, everyone's hands shot at their nose, and we started pointing at people and yelling "It was you! It was you!" It all happened too fast so there was a tie between two people and one of them volunteered. Needless to say, there was a wild uproar of laughter; I laughed so hard I cried. It was so funny seeing everyone in the group instantaneously touching their nose.
I was also laughing because before putting up the slide, the professor was giving us hints on how to solve the problem. He asked, "So what does that mean we have to do?" and someone yelled out "Integrate" while yawning and it sounded really funny. The professor said, "Well I'm glad you're all awake in my class."
Haha! At least the nose rule keeps us alert in class. You snooze, you lose.

I'm becoming such a hypocrite! I look down on people who eat chocolate all the time, but I've been craving it a lot lately.

Last night, I dreamt that I was going into a restaurant and licking my lips, and at the same time a hot (and smart) Asian guy was walking out the restaurant and I made eye contact with him. He thought I was flirting with him, so he licked his lips too and asked me out to lunch. I was sooo happy, even though he told me to get something under $5 because that was all he had. It was okay though because I just ate some fries and a hot dog bun.

Ahh! This weekend was cool. Last night I went to a Turkish dinner gathering hosted by the Turkish American Society of New England and met a few new people. There was also very good Turkish food. I left that a little early (and good thing, because the live music was getting a bit too loud) to get ready for the Freshman Formal. I had a pretty good time there too. I couldn't figure out what to do with my hair for 1.5 hours! Finally I abandoned the idea of leaving out some loose curls, and made a simple high bun and it looked great. I ripped a part of the edge of my skirt while going up the stairs. duuurrr...
Today, I got up at 11:30 to go to an AXE pledge event at noon. We went on a scavenger hunt which involved making at least five people sign a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide (a very harmful chemical), getting Charles Vest's signature and a picture (the president of MIT), and a trip to Krispy Kreme. Then we went to the fraternity's advisor's house and had hamburgers for dinner. It was really fun. Now I'm sort of doing homework. I started and finished this week's physics homework yesterday, so I am still in awe of that. Well, okay, I'm flattering myself; it was a short problem set.
