TesadŸf is my first song ever! Yay. Go me.
The instrumental part is a midi file that I wrote out (bass guitar, lead guitar, synth, drums/cymbals). I recorded myself singing it with the microphone on my laptop, while the midi file was playing on the computer I have in my room (it has nice speakers).
The midi file was very precise and planned, but I didn't write any specific melody for the singing part. Instead, I made it up using trial-and-error for hours. The second half of the song is mostly improvisation because, truthfully, I didn't have the patience to plan out the whole thing.

Brainstorms:
Since I don't really know much music theory, I don't compose with chords but instead use solfege syllables instead. Here were some of my ideas I'd scribbled down for chords whenever I had an idea: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Lyrics:
I hate writing lyrics, and I can't even write poetry, so I decided to write them in Turkish. It felt more private. I wrote it as a paragraph, in about two minutes. Just so I could have something to sing.

Am I always going to be like this? Tired, unmotivated, worried. If you want to know the truth, I'm scared of the future. I shudder, as if all my successes so far have been a big coincidence. We're going to see if it was a coincidence, from now on.

"TesadŸf" means "coincidence."

Listen to the work in progress:
Instrumental - The midi file that's playing in the background.
Sneak peek - Another recording of the first 46 seconds of the song, after I had spent hours perfecting the melody line.

Woohoo! See you at the next big project.
