I actually compose more than what you see here. Most of them are unfinished, and I don't like putting up unfinished work. I'm trying to finish them, though, because this is a horrible representation of what I do.

2008 |
0:40 | I harmonized the well-known Gregorian chant called Dies Irae, partly as a joke and partly because it got stuck in my head. (score)
2007 |
1:30 | My interpretation of the Christmas carol Joy to the World in Dorian mode.
7:35 | A little something I worked on over the summer. The ending might hurt your ears.
5:10 | I worked on this on and off from January until November. Thanks to Justin Lo, who let me record him playing the violin.
2:15 | Assignment for electronic music class.
4:35 | Assignment for electronic music class.
13:21 | This was an assignment for my electronic music class. All the sounds were created from scratch using Max patches (noise filtration and FM synthesis).
2006 | 5:22 | This was an assignment for my electronic music class. I used different sorts of feedback noises I created with a speaker and microphone, and edited it using delays and reverbs.
2:54 | This is a pretty silly improvisation I did in about an hour. It's seven vocal tracks of yours truly.
1:16 | This is an improvisation I did in about 30-45 minutes.
2:12 | I wrote this quartet for a class. It's supposed to be a "slow movement" that has an ABA' form; we only did the AB part, so imagine that it returns to the main theme afterwards. (flute: Lori Huberman, violin: Justin Lo, viola: Katie Matlack. Sadly, I don't remember the cellist's name.)
3:06 | A piano piece written for class. This is a recording of my computer playing it, so it's not very musical. It attempts to do dynamics, but it doesn't understand the concept of a crescendo or diminuendo, resulting in abrupt dynamic changes.
2004 | 5:07 | This was a final project for theory class.
1:10 | Would you like some peanuts? This one's crappy, but here's why I did it.
2003 | 1:04 | This was a final project for my first music theory class. It was written for violin, viola, clarinet, and cello. It was sightread by a small student ensemble.
2:57 | This is an actual mainstream-like song. I know I'm not the best vocalist out there. Click for more info.
0:24 | This was an introduction to something I was planning on writing, but just as it came to the beginning of the theme, I got bored.
2002 | 0:54 | It's so creepy sounding, I love it!
2:06 | This is probably one of the most coherent things I've ever written. It's one of my favorites.
2001 | 0:58 | This is my first composition, and it's still one of my favorites.
0:18 | This one's unfinished. It was a nice idea, but then I got bored with it, messed it up, tried to fix it, and just left it at that.
0:20 | I mercilessly copied Bach's style. But that got me nowhere, and figuring that I could never make it slightly interesting, I ended it.
0:42 | I stuck a bunch of atonal notes together one night, then fixed it up the next morning into something slightly tolerable.
0:36 | This sounds really unoriginal. In fact, I hope I haven't subconsciously copied anyone.
0:56 | Yay!! I really like this one! It reminds me of a haunted house or something.. I like the creepy middle part. I discovered how to use different instruments while doing this. Yay me!
1:14 | I found a Spanish poem so I decided to make a song for it... pretty short and cute (maybe a bit too cute). Here are the words, heh. |
